Italian Swimmer Dominates Race for Second Gold

Quadarella's Victory Marks European Dominance in Women's Freestyle

Italian swimmer Simona Quadarella has won her second gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships, dominating the women's 1500m freestyle event. Quadarella's victory on Wednesday night extends European dominance in the women's freestyle races.

The 23-year-old swimmer finished the race in a time of 15 minutes and 59.60 seconds, well ahead of the nearest competitor, Katie Ledecky of the United States. Quadarella had previously won the 800m freestyle event at the championships.

Quadarella's victory marks her second world title in the 1500m freestyle. She had also won the title in 2019. Her performance at the World Aquatics Championships has further solidified her status as one of the world's top female swimmers.
