Barça Femení players make up significant contingent of winning World Cup squad
Club's dominance at international level recognised by prestigious award
FC Barcelona Femení's dominance at international level has been recognised with the team winning the Laureus Award for Best Team.
The award, which is voted for by a panel of sports journalists and experts from around the world, recognises the achievements of the Spain women's team, who won the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2023.
A significant contingent of the Spain squad that won the World Cup are players for Barça Femení, including captain Alexia Putellas, goalkeeper Sandra Paños and defender Irene Paredes.
Barça Femení have also been dominant at club level in recent years, winning the UEFA Women's Champions League in 2021 and 2023, as well as the Spanish league and cup on multiple occasions.
The Laureus Award is a prestigious recognition of the team's success and their status as one of the best women's football teams in the world.
